Why Regulated Farming Matters

We farm in one of the most heavily monitored and regulated farming areas in the United States. For example, we work closely with state and federal partners to ensure we follow industry best practices designed to keep our employees and neighbors safe. The Florida Forest Service has pioneered conservation through controlled, prescribed fires. The Service described these burns as “an effective tool to reduce fuel buildups, which can cause dangerous wildfire conditions.” They’re key in reducing dry brush and helping to preserve Florida’s valuable ecosystems. As a result, Florida’s prescribed burn program is a model for the nation.
