Every year, U.S. Sugar operates continuously from October to May to do everything it takes to produce high quality sugar and other food products for American families. That requires our employees to work over holidays, which are actually observed during the summer months when the mill has shut down and harvesting is finished for the season.

This Veterans Day, Stephen Gardner, a recruiting administrator at U.S. Sugar and a U.S. military veteran, invited all U.S. Sugar employees who wore our nation’s uniform to gather for breakfast and be honored for their service in defense of our freedom. The idea spread to other areas of the company and in total, more than 40 U.S. Sugar employees who are veterans were honored for the sacrifices they made for all of us.

U.S. Sugar prides itself in being an American company that not only values everything our veterans have sacrificed for our freedom, but also the work that veterans have done since our company was founded in 1931.
