U.S. Sugar Takes Part in Save Our Water Summit

U.S. Sugar took part in the News-Press Media Group’s Save Our Water Summit on Oct. 26 in Fort Myers. Bubba Wade, U.S. Sugar’s senior vice president of corporate strategy and business development, spoke on the science of Lake Okeechobee discharges and why buying land south of the lake is not the solution to the region’s water issues.

Hillary Hyslope, executive director of the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce, gave a presentation about the Raisin’ Cane Tours, which educate the public about the development of the area and U.S. Sugar, and provide a behind-the-scene view of how sugarcane and oranges are grown, harvested and processed.

See below for a Storify of the event, of which U.S. Sugar was a sponsor.
