Dan Casper is President of Southern Gardens Citrus, a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Sugar. He assumed this role and a position on the senior management team of U.S. Sugar in July 2016 after serving as Southern Gardens’ Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and Procurement. He has been employed by U.S. Sugar for nine years and has almost 30 years of experience in the citrus industry.
Before joining U.S. Sugar, Casper was Vice-President of Global Citrus and Juice Supply with Coca-Cola North America supporting the Minute Maid brand as well as Coca-Cola’s international juice brands. Prior to joining Coca-Cola, he held various procurement and sales positions in Cargill’s juice business after serving as an Economist for its sugar trading business.
Casper currently serves on the Florida Citrus Commission and the board of directors of the Florida’s Natural Growers Cooperative. He is a past chairman of the Florida Citrus Processors Association as well as the Juice Products Association.
He is a native Missourian and graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and completed coursework toward a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics. He resides in Fort Myers, Fla., with his wife, Linda. They have two adult children, Sarah and John.
