Information Technology
U.S. Sugar implements cutting edge technology and hosts its data center in a cloud to ensure efficiency and accuracy in all areas of operations as well as information security.

Information Technology The Company uses industry specific software modules to standardize, measure and track the processes of producing sugar and citrus. In use globally, our implementation of these software modules is the first in the United States.

In the field, U.S. Sugar uses GPS-based Autosteer Technology and experimental base cutters that automatically adjust their height based on field conditions. This technology helps to improve yields, reduce trash and lengthen cane stubble life.

An automated radio frequency identification (RFID) system is used to manage harvested cane. RFID tag readers are mounted at strategic positions on the rail network to monitor real-time cane car movement. This system allows harvesting operations to be matched with the mills’ needs and enables us to control the age of the harvested cane.

The Company uses a “Mobile Inspection Management” system where maintenance personnel, carrying compact wireless devices, are able to enter information about maintenance inspections and needs directly into a networked system from the plant floor. This technology increases maintenance productivity, accelerates time to repair, simplifies the creation of inspection routes and allows for easy trending of data.
