— U.S. Sugar Corporation announced that it has joined Hilliard Brothers,
Inc. in their efforts to locate an inland port facility in “This
project would be a great start to the state’s economic transition plan for
our community,” Sanchez said. “We’ve
agreed to provide logistical support to Hilliard Brothers as well as provide
large scale construction management of potential inland port facilities. We will also be a transportation partner
for the site since we own the railroad infrastructure that operates
throughout the Glades region,” said Judy Sanchez, director of corporate
communications. “We
certainly have experience in managing all aspects of large scale industrial
construction projects in the region.
We’ve built and operated a huge raw mill, a refinery and a citrus
processing plant here in the last 20 years,” Sanchez said. In
explaining why U.S. Sugar was joining the effort in support of the “Overall, we think that locating an inland port facility in the Glades region will benefit all of the Glades communities,” Sanchez said. ### |
