Growers
U.S. Sugar holds a profound belief that the family farm is an important
element of the agricultural community. Over the years we have established
strong ties to many of these independent family growers, and as
members of the same community, bound to land, we have celebrated
together and helped each other in time of need.
Hammock Farms
Allen and Ardis Hammock exemplify the family farms in the
Lake Okeechobee region. The Hammock family has been growing sugarcane
on their 700–acre
sugar cane farm near Clewiston for over 60 years.
Stitt Ranch
John and Sandy Stitt are the owners of Stitt Ranch, which is located
about four miles from Clewiston.
Stitt Ranch is a family-owned and operated business. John’s father established the ranch in 1950 and operated a
cattle ranch for 35 years. In 1985, the family went into sugar
farming. Presently they grow sugar cane on approximately
800 acres.
